Timed test
Questions keep coming until the clock runs out. A right answer earns no extra time and a wrong one costs nothing — this measures whether the method survives pressure, not whether you can guess.
Grading scale
| Accuracy | Grade | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| ≥ 95% | S · human calculator | The technique is second nature — move up a level |
| 85% – 94% | A · fast and solid | Method is stable; occasional carry slips |
| 70% – 84% | B · basics in place | You can compute, but speed has not formed yet |
| 50% – 69% | C · technique not locked in | Reread the corresponding lesson step |
| < 50% | D · back to the lessons | Accuracy first, speed later |

Three exam-room rules
- Estimate the magnitude first: hundreds or thousands? That alone kills most place-value errors.
- Always check: the DS digital root costs two seconds — far cheaper than recomputing.
- Skip and move on: if 15 seconds pass with no route, leave it and bank the easier marks.
