Speed games

Three 45-second games, one action each. The point is not entertainment — it is turning the right move into a reflex under time pressure.

Square Dash

Only numbers ending in 5. Say it as you see it: first × (first+1), then append 25. How many can you chain in 45 seconds?

Example:35² → 3×4 = 12 → 122585² → 8×9 = 72 → 7225145² → 14×15 = 210 → 21025

DS true / false

The screen shows a multiplication that may or may not be true. Compare digital roots only — full computation is not allowed. Press ← for true, → for false.

Example:47 × 63 = 2961 → DS: 2 × 9 = 18 → 9, and DS(2961) = 9 ✓ consistent

Number Sprint

Numbers keep being added to a hidden total; you type the running sum. One hesitation and every later answer is wrong — this drills working memory.

Example:+38 → 38+21 → 59+74 → 133

Why games, not just drills

  • Time pressure: in practice you allow yourself to be slow; a game does not. Speed only grows where the clock is running.
  • One action: a round trains a single technique, avoiding task-switching noise.
  • Immediate feedback: right and wrong are separated by half a second, so errors cannot become habits.
  • Ten minutes a day: two rounds is the minimum dose for keeping the skill alive.
